Overview
Located in the historic mills district of Minneapolis, this 41,000 square foot residential building holds 22 loft units, each 2 levels, ranging in size from 1,480 square feet to 2,100 square feet. Construction materials are precast concrete, reinforced masonry, and wood.
The lofts wrap around a three-level precast concrete parking ramp, which serves the residents, as well as tenants of the nearby Depot Office Center, also an MBJ project. Ten-inch-thick bearing walls supporting levels P1 and P2 extend partially into the office building. The ramp was designed to meet regulations requiring it to be obscured from street view.
