Meghan Elliott, PE, Associate AIA, and structural engineer with MBJ delivered a paper at the Construction History Society of America's inaugural convention held in Atlanta, GA, on November 6-8, 2008. Her paper, entitled "Testing the Limits: Long-Term Deflection of the Mushroom System," discusses one of the earliest commercial structural systems used in this country, which was developed by American structural engineer C.A.P. Turner (1865-1955). A member of the Minneapolis Heritage Preservation Commission, Meghan specializes in building evaluation and repair of historic structures at MBJ.
