MBJ received five awards from the Preservation Alliance of Minnesota at their annual awards ceremony on Friday, September 19, 2008. The evening culminated in the presentation of a Lifetime Achievement award to John (Jack) E. Meyer, PE, structural engineer, former principal, and founder of MBJ for his contribution of more than fifty years of service to building preservation in Minnesota.
John has provided structural engineering and consulting services for many of Minnesota’s most important landmarks, helping to reclaim many historically significant structures for the continued use and enjoyment of future generations. Some of his most challenging restoration projects include the Landmark Center in St. Paul, Minneapolis City Hall, the Commandant's House and Officers' Quarters at Fort Snelling, and the Minnesota State Capitol.
Other awards received by MBJ were for UMN Ben Pomeroy Student / Alumni Learning Center (Adaptive Reuse Award), W Minneapolis – The Foshay (Adaptive Reuse Award), Marzario Warehouse / Monte’s Steakhouse, Faribault (Adaptive Reuse Award), Grace University Lutheran Church, Minneapolis (Addition/Expansion Award).
